About Us

Selangor International Indigenous Arts Festival (SIIAF) is back for its fifth edition to showcase the wonderful and diverse cultures of the region’s tribal groups!

The Festival is a two-day cultural extravaganza that brings together domestic and international tribes from Malaysia, South Africa, South Korea, Indonesia, and Australia. This year, SIIAF celebrates the myriad of hidden indigenous cultures and their intricacies in Thousand Faces of the Indigenous. From intriguing performances to bazaars, exhibitions and workshops, there are loads of exciting activities to give visitors an experience like no other.

Organised by Tourism Selangor, The Festival coincides with World Indigenous People Celebration every August. It is the largest of its kind in Malaysia, and a fantastic opportunity to immerse in indigenous cultures!

How to get there

This year, it takes place on 3 & 4 August 2019 at the Shah Alam Botanical Garden. The event happens from 10am to 5pm.

By RapidKL Bus: Take busses 63 or 338 from Kuala Lumpur and alight near the Maybank Building at Shah Alam City Centre. Take a Grab/ taxi to reach the park.

By KTM Komuter: Alight at Shah Alam Station then ride a Grab/ taxi (20 minutes) to the park.

Own Transport/ Taxi/ Grab: From the Federal Highway, take the exit towards Shah Alam City Centre and follow the signs to the park.

Yes, there are parking spaces at the venue.

Shah Alam KTM Station. It is 20 minutes away from the Botanical Gardens.

There is free admission, but we charge participation fees for workshops.

There are three exclusive workshops happening at SIIAF: a sketching workshop with Temuan artist, Shaq Koyok; a jungle school lesson with Semai gentleman, Raman Bahtuin, and a weaving experience with a Temiar weaver.

How to get there

Take RapidKL bus number 63 or 338 from Kuala Lumpur and stop at the bus station near Maybank building in Shah Alam city centre. From here, take a taxi to the park.
The other way is to take the KTM Komuter train and disembark at Shah Alam Station. From here, take a taxi and you will reach the park in approximately 20 minutes time.
