Pha Tad Ke is the first botanical garden in Lao, and one of Luang Prabang's popular natural attractions. Once the former hunting estate of the Lao royal family, the oasis is filled with ethno-botanic gardens, pathways and delicate floras. The garden aims to preserve the natural heritage of Laos by bringing together plants and traditional knowledge of botany. It is hidden across the gorgeous Mekong River.
In this experience, you will enjoy a boat ride down the Mekong and bask in scenic river views until you reach Pha Tad Ke Botanical Garden. Explore the gardens or enjoy an orchid talk at the nursery. After a Lao set lunch, you will cruise down the Mekong river to the majestic Kuang Si Waterfall, where you will take in breathtaking natural views and then stop to visit the entertaining Butterfly Park.
One day at Pha Tad Ke and Kuang Si Waterfalls
Departs: Ban Wat That Pier at 09:00 Returns: Ban Wat That Pier at approx. 18:00 The boat departs from Ban Wat That at 9:00. We will first enjoy a 15-minute leisurely boat trip down the Mekong River to the Pha Tad Ke Botanical Garden. You will be given a short presentation about the garden. Then you can walk at your own leisure through the gardens or enjoy the orchid talk at Pha Tad Ke Nursery. Enjoy a delicious Lao set lunch at Pha Tad Ke’s café. At 1pm, you will cruise down the Mekong to visit the Kuangsi Waterfall and a visit of the Butterfly Park.
