Take a boat ride to Lao's gems along the Mekong river. Have a relaxing afternoon tour to Pak Ou Caves, one of the nation's most beloved holy sites with thousands of intricate Buddha statues. Enjoy the scenic serenity of the river, and bask in a beautiful sunset. You have the option of visiting local villages to see how their handicraft or whiskey is made, and to bring souvenirs home.
Pak Ou Caves and Sunset
We will pick you up from your accommodation by tuk tuk at 1pm and go to the boat, where our English-speaking staff will send you off and explain anything necessary for the boat driver. The trip upstream is almost 2 hours, plenty of time to sit back and enjoy the river scenery. An optional lunch is available if you have had a busy morning sightseeing and want to maximize your time. When you arrive at Pak Ou you have an hour to explore the lower and upper caves. There are optional stops at the whiskey and paper villages. The return trip is much faster, taking half the time coming downstream. Bask in the sunset along the way back. We will then return to the boat station and send you back to your accommodation at about 5 to 5.30pm.
