Join us on a weekend trip to the rustic and historical town of Gopeng and discover the hidden gem that is Kampung Ulu Geroh! We will visit Hup Tuck Soy Sauce factory to learn how soy sauce is produced traditionally and proceed to the Gopeng Museum to discover Gopeng’s rich history.
Home of the friendly Semai tribe, the lovely Kampung Ulu Geroh is surrounded by lush vegetation and exciting wildlife. We will embark on a nightwalk to discover nocturnal fauna such as stick insects, leaf insects, frogs, lizards and perhaps some civets! If we are lucky, we may spot some glowing mushrooms too. We will be spending a night at the Adeline Villa and Rest House, a tranquil jungle sanctuary with full service, on this no expense spared trip where we will be spoiled with excellent accommodations and a hearty barbeque dinner.
We will embark on a hike on the next day to observe the famous Rafflesia flower and dip in the refreshing Damar Waterfall and enjoy a scrumptious lunch with the Semai tribe before departing. This trip is family friendly, but do note that the hike to the Rafflesia and Damak Waterfall is mildly rigorous and involves one river crossing.
This will be Steven Wong’s (aka FROGMAN) debut trip with Nature Inspired. He is a skilled biologist who specializes in herpetofauna: reptiles and amphibians. As a professional Nature Guide and active volunteer for Malaysian Nature Society, he has led numerous nightwalks all around Malaysia. A nightwalk with him is not to be missed, especially if you are a macro photographer, as he will show you some of Malaysia’s most beautiful frogs, lizards and snakes!!
