In collaboration with Tourism Selangor, we are inviting Mr Raman Bahtuin, a retired Semai gentleman, to give visitors a taste of the popular Jungle School. You will learn how to weave a shelter using bertam leaves, use a blowpipe, and solve several bamboo puzzles.

Selangor International Indigenous Arts Festival returns for its fifth installment this year at Shah Alam Botanic Park, Selangor. Organised by Tourism Selangor, this festival is set to wow you with indigenous cultural performances, Borneo street market, food trucks, indigenous handicraft bazaar, fruit fiestas, exclusive workshops, a photo exhibition, photo contest, and other fun activities! Meet indigenous tribes from all around the world, including Malaysia, South Africa, Indonesia, and Australia!

Learn Orang Asli traditions with Mr Raman

During the 2 hour programme, our local expert Mr. Raman will give an introduction about the Semai tribe that reside in Gombak. You will also learn how to build a day-shelter using ‘bertam’ leaves and several jungle surviving secrets. Apart from that, you get to test yourself at a blowpipe competition and a puzzle solving game known as ‘Jah re Noi’.
